Bernhard Mitmesser was born in 1991 in Schwarzach/St. Veit and developed a passion for the clarinet early on. He first gained international recognition in 2012 when he received the U21 Special Prize from Bavarian Radio at the ARD Music Competition. In the following years, Mitmesser participated in various significant concert projects and collaborated with renowned orchestras, including the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Zurich Opera Orchestra, the hr-Sinfonieorchester, the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, the Camerata Salzburg, the Dresden Staatskapelle, and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.
From 2014 to 2018, Bernhard Mitmesser was the principal clarinetist with the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra. In December of last year, he successfully auditioned for the stage orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and has since regularly performed in opera productions and concerts with the Vienna Philharmonic. Since September 2019, Mitmesser has been the principal clarinetist with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. With his dedication and passion for music, he inspires audiences and colleagues alike and remains an influential figure in the world of classical music.
